In 2011, I began a series of necklaces inspired by my home, Tahiti. The women there often compliment their outfits with similar jewelry, carefully choosing a piece to wear with their traditional dresses. Since I had always dreamed of owning one of these expensive works of art, I decided to make my own. I sewed the shells, mother of pearl, seeds, etc. onto a woven coconut base and fashioned a clasp out of a shell. What you see below is a collection of the pieces I've made up until today.
